EOTD: On Fire

I received some new Makeup Geek eyeshadows today and was really excited to try them out, so I went right to work! I read the Hunger Games recently (great book! I totally suggest it), and the whole "Girl on Fire" theme has been on my mind since. I want to redo this look when I get my Sugarpill shadows, but I decided to do something with the theme now and redo it later!

EOTD Purple Liner & NOTD Coral Polka Dots

I've just been doing some basic neutral looks lately as I'm waiting for some new fun and exciting makeup to come in the mail! But I really liked the way today's neutral eye turned out; I added a hint of purple on the lower lashline and it really complimented my green eyes.

Eyes:
  • Makeup Geek Duchess
  • Makeup Geek Sensuous
  • Body Shop Smokey Eye Quad
  • Clinique Day Break
  • Physicians Formula Gel Liner
  • Makeup Geek White Lies
Lips:
  • Revlon Lip Butter Creme Brulee

I also have a NOTD to post which is very springy; a pretty coral with white dots.

How do you spice up a neutral look?

An Abundance of Looks

I've been doing pretty boring looks lately, but I've been trying to expand so I have something to post. Unfortunately, even when I do something exciting, the pictures are just never good enough. But today I've gone through my memory card and find enough satisfactory pictures to provide my beautiful readers with some content! I have four looks and I'm going to try my very best to remember what I used in each [semi-boring] look.

EOTD: St. Patrick's Day Greens

Last year St. Patrick's day was a Thursday and my boyfriend was sick and had an exam the next morning so we went to a friend's place and played Mario Cart and ate pancakes! Not a so traditional St. Patrick's day but memorable none-the-less. This year I'm sure will be more eventful since it's on a Saturday, so I've decided to prepare a dramatic green St. Patrick's day look for March the 17th's events!

I plan on also going out this weekend to pick up some China Glaze Hunger Games polishes!!! And hopefully soon I'll be able to find the Essie Resort 2012 collection.

Don't forget to also check out the poll I posted and give me your answers!

Valentine's Day: NOTD & EOTD

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I personally am not a big fan of the day, but you know, any reason to do themed nails and makeup is okay by me!

I did a red and pink striped manicure with all Quo by Orly nail polishes. I adore it!

For the look, I did a soft peach lid with a smoked out cranberry crease, blended out with a light pink. It's such a pretty look. Onto the pictures and products!

The colours are:
Pink: True Love
Red: Red Hot
Dark Red: Very Vixen

    EOTD: Smokey Burlesque

I decided to post an eye of the day today, instead of a nail polish because the nail polish I'm wearing is really ugly (Gosh Purple Heart - it definitely does not look purple.)

This look is a recreation of NikkieTutorial's most recent Valentine's day look. I'm trying it out because I'm trying to figure out what look to wear out for my birthday on Saturday! I loveee this, it turned out great in my opinion, but let me know what you think! What I used is listed below:

Quo by Orly: Cold Stone Swatches + EOTD

So I decided a couple days ago to swatch another of the 18 Quo by Orly nail polishes I got for Christmas... but it's taken be about three days to decide whether I should photograph it and share it or not. The colour should have just blown me away - it looked gorgeous. In the bottle it looks like a gunmetal grey colour with silver sparkles and holographic microglitter. Doesn't that sound amazing? I thought it would be extraordinary.

And it's not that the colour disappointed once it was on the nails, but I felt as though the formula disappointed. You can see what I'm talking about in the swatches. I can't tell if the polish bubbled drastically or if the glitter is so course that the polish ends up looking this textured when on the nails, but even with a coat of Seche Vite on top, it just would not smooth out.

I also tried to mattify it with Essie Matte About You, but you completely lose the holographic glitter when you do that, which is the best part!

Anyway, I love the colour, but I'll let you decide for yourself if the texture completely ruins the manicure for you as much as it does for me. Excuse the tip wear because it took me 3 days to decide whether to swatch this or not.

And finally, I did a look the other day just for fun. I used all Makeup Geek eyeshadows, and no base since I was just doing it for fun and actually wasn't wearing any other makeup on my face.
    All Makeup Geek:
  • Corrupt (black)
  • Mocha (brown)
  • Cocoa Bear (terra cota)
  • Shimma-Shimma (highlight)
