NOTD: Mint Ombre Spring Nails

I have been struggling with the weather going back to freezing after having a week of summer-like weather, so I had to do a nail in memoriam of the beautiful weather. It was actually an on-the-fly nail since I had intended on picking up one or two polishes from the Essie Resort 2012 collection today, but good ol' Shoppers Drugmart never fails to let me down! So that will have to be for next weekend.

I have also been attempting to get some good pictures of my makeup but nothing is turning out. So I'll have to work on that once I'm done this semester and have a bit more time on my hands (about 1 month!).

As for today, I have a mint green ombre gradient manicure and even though you can't see it, butterfly thumbs!

Gosh Miss Minty Swatch

So yesterday I got a mini haul because I just couldn't resist the spring colours out on the shelf! I got a beautiful minty green Gosh Miss Minty, a sky blue Essie Lapiz of Luxury, and a greige that I've been wanting Essie Chinchilly.

For today, I present you with the swatch of Gosh Miss Minty. It's absolutely wonderful and gorgeous and springy. It's very similar to Essie Turquoise and Caicos. This is the perfect colour for the "in" colours this spring.

The formula was thick and a bit streaky; it needed patience to get solid and some of my fingers could have used a third coat, but I decided to stick with two. It evens out pretty good by itself, which is good because it tended towards that ridged streaky side. It's definitely worth working for, the colour is amazing.

Are you excited for the spring collections?

Glitter Gradient: Gosh Gasoline & Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-Ment

The pictures really do not do this manicure justice. It's gorgeous and holographic and purpley and wonderful.

Gosh Gasoline is one of my favourite purple nail polishes ever, even if it takes like 4 coats to make opaque.

As for Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-Ment, I just picked it up at Shoppers the other day and it's amazing. My first holographic type nail polish - beautiful silver holographic sparkle. I've read it takes about 3-4 coats to make opaque on it's own, but I decided to do a gradient with it and it looks amazing. Did you know it's really hard to capture holographic shimmer on camera? Haha.

Anyway, onto to the nails!

And here's Gosh Gasoline:

How do you feel about holographic nail polishes?
Do you have a favourite nail polish (regardless of the colour) you go back to no matter how many new collections the companies put out?
